Outstanding LEAD Alum
Tim Graff
Tim graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor’s degree in General Agriculture. Returning to the fifth-generation mixed-crop farm in the early 80’s, he expanded the family’s egg laying operation to 42,000 hens.
A couple years after a tornado destroyed most of the farmstead in 1996, Tim interviewed and was selected to be part of LEAD Class XX. The class selected him to serve as class representative on the Alumni Board of Directors. At the first Board meeting he attended, Tim volunteered to serve a vacancy as Treasurer for the group and was later selected to serve as the Executive Treasurer.
Over the past fifteen years, he has served in this capacity and has volunteered for several committees and has used his page-layout skills to update the membership directory so that it is ready for printing every third-year.
Tim and his wife, Mary Schuster-Graff, live on the family’s farm where he continues to farm nearly 1,700 acres of mostly dryland corn and soybeans. They have three children, six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. He is the Chair for the Blakely Township Board, has served as President for the LEAD Alumni, Chair for the NALC, Treasurer for the Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Beatrice, and Treasurer for the Tri-County Educational Foundation. Tim is a member of the Saint Joesph’s Church choir, and he and Mary enjoy travel.
